Degree Requirements
Two General Studies degrees are available: the Associate of Arts and the Bachelor of General Studies. General Studies is an interdisciplinary degree program. You develop a plan of study that encompasses three areas of learning:
- Arts & Humanities
- Natural and Mathematical Sciences
- Social & Behavioral Sciences
In addition, you select electives that meet your needs and interests. You may also earn a certificate in career fields such as Business, Informatics, Public Management, or Environmental Studies while pursuing your degree, and choose from dozens of minors like Human Resourses, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and many others. An academic advisor experienced in working with General Studies students will help you plan a program that addresses your career and personal goals.
The Associate of Arts in General Studies degree requires the completion of 60 semester credit hours. The Bachelor of General Studies requires the completion of 120 semester credit hours.
